Thabo joined Santam in May 2021 as the head of Group Underwriting Governance, in January 2023 he was appointed to the role of head of Commercial Underwriting and currently hold the Chief Underwriting Officer position. A University of the Witwatersrand in Economic Sciences, majoring in Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Science, Thabo has extensive experience in insurance and reinsurance (+20yrs). Having worked in a range of functions including underwriting, actuarial pricing, governance and client management, he knows about leading teams, pricing products, making sure proper processes and procedures are followed and dealing with clients key ingredients to a successful business.
